She runs!!!  Drove about a mile with no signs of leaking, and ran awesome.  stoked.  If I had more faith in the battery i might be driving her to work today.

Is the throttle cable bracket attatched to the engine or the fender?

Did you ever get those clamps you wanted?

Nope.  The clamps are over $100 for all 8 through ride.  I gotta check some other motorcycle parts stores. I'm using a single hose clamp per runner for now.  i don't really like it, but the clamp is almost as wide as the couplers/joints so it does hold quite well.

Throttle cable bracket is bolted to the valve cover.  Still not quite done.  But she drives.

Next thing is I want to do a fuel switch like most motorcycles have, but electronic so that i can push a button rather than pop the hood every time.  that way i can let the carbs run dry...  any ideas on where i could find something like that?

Cant you just devise soemthing that grounds out all sparkplugs like a lawn mower?    What if you just put in an interupt on the coil feed?

I could suppose but it's mainly because I want to dry the carbs out.  I don't drive my car daily.  To let it sit a week or two is okay, but Im trying to avoid the fuel eating away at the gaskets and O-rings if she should sit for more than a few weeks

Would be simple if you had an electric fuel pump.   :)

Old chevy trucks with dual fuel tanks must have some kind of fuel solenoids, because you can change fuel tanks with the flip of a switch.

I'd say use a fuel solenoid from a nitrous kit, but they probably aren't rated for continuous duty.

My car has an electric fuel pump and a FPR good for getting PSI down to 5 or so.  when I pull it all apart, I'll send it to you.  I'm just going to use the mechanical pump.

*OR*

what if you just pull the fuel line off the pump when you park it?  That would be free.  Then, tach it up a bit and let the carbs empty their bowls.

My setup would be free too, but will need to be installed by you.

I have a Holley FPR for upto 4 or 5 psi I forget.  But if you seriously want to give me your electric pump setup that would be beyond rad.

Taking the line off could work.  But again I'd rather push a button than pop my hood and mess with fuel line while it's running.  Especially since everything sits right above a hot exhaust manifold

Taking the line off isn't a good idea.   As the air in the tank expands and contracts because of temperature changes, it would spray fuel on your engine.

Hahaha.  I think electric pump, FPR, and a block off plate is the best way to go.

Next is to make a air box bottom that will utilize the Silver Tops air box top.  The "4 Throttle" air box fits the carbs too well ;)

JimmyDE!  Welds might not be as pretty, but everything fits up like butter now!

Ordered some clamps from Ride Now Peoria, since the chandler store ordered the wrong parts, and then I never got back around to it.

Everything is installed, waiting on clamps.  Tho, it feels much more stable than before even without and clamps on it.

You can see my hideous exhaust here

Clamps came in last night while I was at work.  Picked them up today and got about an hour of wrench time in...  I say hour, but 20 minutes of that was trying to get a bolt out, that had perfectly fell between the block and the bell housing support bracket.  Fun stuff.

I got the clamps on with the exception of the last one on cylinder 4, I just ran out of time, and it's a bitch to get to.

Much beefier,

After I got it dislodged, but not out.  This was fun getting out

But here she sits now.  One bolt away from driving.

Of course, now it won't rain for a while.
