Found the misfire issue.   Tank was so badly full of rust and mud.  Pre-screen clogged.

I've been cleaning the tank for days, not sure if I can save it.   But I did source one that was cleaned and treated with POR-15.  So I should have the car ready to go this weekend.

Did some camber adjustments to try and get more front end grip in the car

Fixed the hydro-ebrake and confirmed she skids.

I've got a few months to get the car ready for desert meihan

Fuel cell because racecar!

I saw your front-end setup, was interested to hear how it performs...

Adjusting your dwell setting should cool the coil packs.

What coils are you using?

I'm using 1ZZ/Prius coils.

I was pleasantly surprised how good the suspension feels straight away.   I need to dial in some things but the car feels so good on track

I just received my two new gas tanks I ordered.  Should be driving as soon as I get a day free

Update:

New Fuel Tank (Spectre (GTS))
New Fuel Pump(Walbro 255)
New Fuel Filter (Wix)
Purged lines.

Fuel pressure improved greatly.  AFR's improved greatly.  Misfire remained.

Did a cold compression test:
180
181
179
182

Found a leak in the Intake tube coupler

Found a bad leak in the intake manifold gasket due to the manifold being loose!!! Yikes

Torqued the manifold down, and Bolt checked the itbs

Replaced the coolant temp sensor.  (Turns out it's a mid 90's Accord sensor and harness plug, huh.   How did that happen?  *cough* Fida *cough lol)

Pulled the injectors, they were dirty.  Pulled the injectors from my Blacktop as well.  Dropped both sets off at AUS Injection yesterday

Ordered new injector o-rings.

And now we wait....

I hate waiting. I want to hear that it's awesome and ready to drift!

Just picked up my injectors from AUS Injection in Tempe.  Ricardo is good people.

So the set in the car had two leaking injectors, and the other set had two leaking as well.   This was remedied through their cleaning process.

Before I had a 14.4% differential and only two of the eight were close to 100% functionality

Now all eight have a differential of 2% and only two injectors fall below 100% performance.

I found out today the o-rings are on back order :(

I went ahead and installed the injectors with the slightly used o-rings to test the car.

AFRs are good.

Misfire remains.

I'm not 100% sure I found my issue, but I certainly found something not good.   My timing puck has been taking in oil!!

My theory:  oil pressure rises, pushing oil through the shaft bearings of the timing puck.   As oil saturates the internal timing wheels, it begins to start missing counts.   The higher the revs, the further oil is tracked up the timing wheels, resulting in more and more missed counts.   Of course in the AEM software it doesn't seem to indicate any timing errors, but that is likely because it's still reading the crank count inside the puck and attempting to correct itself

Fuck

Well, it sounds like your fuel system has been completely gone thru, and with good compression numbers, that kinda only leaves spark issues causing the misfire.

Are the coilpacks still heating up?

Oil in the puck could definitely cause problems.

Is the puck just a single sensor?  on a cam?  no crank sensor?

Can you adjust dwell angle?

When does the misfire occur?

I have a scope...

I can adjust dwell.

The AEM timing puck is two optical sensors on a wheel.  It has 23 small windows, and the 24th is longer so that both sensors read.    Essentially it's 24 Cam counts and 1 crank count per rotation.

Misfire showes up after about 2 minutes of driving, and gets progressively worse.   Usually it shows up as soon as I hit above 3,000.   Then it gets to the point it'll only idle.   The longer the engine is off, the better the misfire gets temporarily.

Installed a shaft seal between the inner and outer distributor adapters shaft bearings.   Tried to get the timing puck cracked open and failed.   Drained maybe a little over a teaspoon worth of engine oil out through the harness hole.

Since I disassembled the adapter at work, either I was correct in assembling it, or 180 degrees out.   Set timing based on several pictures in my phone.   Fired up and ran great.   So I'm somewhere + or - a few degrees of ideal.

I noticed before screwing with timing that my car doesn't backfire on decel anymore.   Im assuming it's because the injectors are clean and firing on average 11% better.    Also fuel pressure is about 3-4lbs higher than it was tuned on.

Gonna have to do more testing to be sure, but I drove it for 15 minutes yesterday and it was back at full power and never missed once!

Do some more testing to insure the oil isn't getting past the seal.  Go back over the tune again with tony.  Then probably not much.

GF and I are about to be home owners so I have a shop to start putting together soon.

I wanted to run Desert Meihan at the end of the year but that has a small chance of happening.   Probably will just be a weekend show warrior for a little while before I dump serious money on drifting again.
