have you considered selling your car and buying one with a f20/f22 swap done already?   it would probably save you a few thousand dollars.    you can get a already swapped one for 7-8k on club4ag.

None that are nearby that I like.
Plus, I would also like to know the progression of the build.  That way, I know the car inside and out.

 Psssssh,

Why go high tech and modern?

Why not swap in an engine that is only slightly newer than the original, and produces significantly less power than the F20C?

That is right, swap in the mediocrity known as the BP from a Miata.

lol.

If I'm going to spend money, might as well go all the way :P

I've been getting a lot of advice from you guys (many many many thanks) about what I'm about to embark on
Most of it is in regards to rear ends, and how the GTS will probably give with that much horsepower

I've read that the MK2 Supra rear end fits.  What other options do I have?

And then snap an axel. Plus welded diffs are not so good for daily driving...

Forgot to mention, Twincharger,
I have the GTS fuel tank and GTS fuel lines (from J.tin, many thanks).  Still need the wiring harness and rear axle.  The mounts I was going to buy from the link Efrain sent me.  I'll probably upgrade the brakes as well.

I have not yet purchased an S2k motor+tranny, or gauge cluster.  I want to know where I'm swapping first, AZ or CA.  I don't want to buy an ebay motor if I can avoid it.

If I remember right, the aluminum oil pan interferes with the ae86 crossmember. One of them needs heavy modifying.

Luckly for you I have a spare sub frame. The oil pan for the f20 is fairly bulky but I didn't know that had to be done. Is this because the installer wanted the motor as far back as possible or was this a unavoidable event?

I have no idea if it's always necessary, but it seems to be required when using the jsp mount kit.

Now I feel bad! I totally forgot about Dan! He does great work. Check his ae86 out, it's the nicest one in Az. And doesn't have a toyota motor either lol.

I really hope your joking about the Bp swap. There's 10 motors I can think of swapping before I would do that.

That makes it easier to break lol! And don't weld your dif or go full spool unless you want it to go sideways every time you turn. I would know I have mine welded.

I was only half kidding. The BP Miata motor isn't a bad one. There are a ton of better ones - but for what you can get them for, how simple they are, and the huge aftermarket - there are many, many, more bad choices.
